Who We Work With

Does this sound like you?  You are a leader or manager in a non-profit organization that provides valuable services to the community.

You’re committed to fulfilling the mission of your organization and often go above and beyond the call of duty to make that happen.  You lead, or aspire to lead, a program or the entire organization.  You’re a veteran in the non-profit sector that has “been there, done that”, or you’re a new manager struggling to define your style…or you are somewhere in between.

Your organization has many strengths, but you know that it has the potential to achieve greater success.  You struggle with internal issues in your organization and spend so much of your time putting out fires that it’s hard to get your “real work” done.  You feel the weight of the organization on your shoulders and wonder how it will ever move from surviving to maintaining to thriving.

If any of these situations sound familiar to you, you are not alone.  We have worked in, for and with non-profits like yours for many years, and we know how difficult it is to run an organization in the midst of constant changes and shrinking resources.  We also know that talented, committed professionals like you sometimes need an extra mind or an extra pair of hands in order to achieve their desired results.

Clients who work with us are most likely to succeed when they are forward-thinking, action-oriented, open to new ideas and committed to building high-performance practices into their organizations.  If this sounds like you, then contact us to discuss your needs.

Our Approach

Your success is important to us because you build stronger communities for us to live in.

So as you persevere in your quest to do good, we want to help you solve the issues that are barriers to high performance in your organization.

Our approach is based on these core values:

Collaboration:  We work in partnership with our clients to identify and deliver the solutions that will meet their organizations’ needs.

Individuality:  We tailor our solutions to fit each organization’s unique “personality” and way of doing business.

Innovation:  We believe excellence is achieved when problem-solving is approached with creativity and a willingness to try new things.

Strengths:  We believe that recognizing and building on our clients’ strengths is an integral part of the improvement process.

Quality:  We hold ourselves to high standards of performance and service.  Clients can expect professionalism, respect, reliability, responsiveness, timeliness, flexibility, and cost-effective solutions that produce lasting results.

Why We Are the Optimal Solution

We take the time to get to know your organization and understand your situation before we recommend a solution.  Clients usually describe their organizations’ needs in terms of the most urgent symptoms they can see, hear and feel.  Instead of proposing solutions immediately, we make sure we understand the root of the problem so that we are proposing the right services that will do more than just mitigate symptoms.  This solution-based approach saves our clients time and money in the long run.

The Bottom Line

When you work with Optimal Solutions Consulting, you gain practical tools and techniques to improve your organization’s performance and maximize new and existing resources.  Ultimately, this improves your bottom line and enables you to continue your mission-based business.

One Organization’s Optimal Solution:

An organization asked for our help with developing strategic partnerships.  The directors of this non-profit and had been so successful in marketing their services that other individuals and organizations were asking to partner with them to provide services to the community.

The problem was that the directors had past experiences with partnerships that ended up being more of a burden than a benefit to the organization.  They were worried that this could happen again, but they weren’t sure whether and how to say no to interested parties.

So we developed a system and tools to help the directors decide which partnerships to pursue based on the strategic direction of their organization and the degree of mutual benefit.  This system made their decision-making process more objective and clarified expectations with their partners up front.

Since then, the directors have used the tools to form new partnerships and add services at their center that they wouldn’t have been able to offer on their own.
